Marlborough Parents Centre

On Friday 11 June the Marlborough Parents Centre celebrated a year of successes at its Annual General Meeting. 

Marian who has been a long standing member of the Marlborough Parents Centre was awarded a Life Membership.  Despite having two teenage children and a busy home life not to mention being a busy relieving teacher, Marian is selfless in the time that she gives the centre.  We are lucky to have Marian, and hope that she will continue to share with us her experience and knowlege in all things parenting for many years to come.

Outgoing President Heather Yiankis was thanked for her dedication to the centre not only during her term as President, but also in the many years that Heather has been a driving force behind the centre.  Heather has seen the centre through some particularly difficult times and without her positive outlook and great personality the centre would be in a much different place to what it is now.  Heather will remain involved in the centre as our much valued 'social convenor'.

Outgoing Treasurer Colette Marfell was also thanked for her many years of service as well as for her role as Treasurer.  Colette has been instrumental in helping to take the financial reporting of the centre to a higher level including the implementation of an MYOB accounting programme ensuring improved efficiency of our financial reports.  Colette has three young children and while she will be hugely missed as Treasurer, she will continue to be involved in the centre.

Maria Hine was elected President - Maria has a beautiful 5 month old daughter and joined the Marlborough Parents Centre in 2009, but brings with her enthusiasm, passion and a great business acumen gained from her role as Manager at the Blenheim branch of SBS. 

Stacey Inwood - Vice President - Stacey has a son Maz and a beautiful new little girl.

Mel Hewer - Secretary - Mel is also Mum to a busy toddler and had a little girl in April. 

Hayley Howie was elected Treasurer - also new to the centre, Hayley brings a fun attitude, new ideas and professionalism to the role of Treasurer.
