About Marlborough Parents Centre

Welcome to the Marlborough Parents Centre and congratulations on your pregnancy - or if you are thinking about becoming a parent - welcome to pending parenthood. This is an exciting time – enjoy the journey!

Parents Centre New Zealand is a nationwide, voluntary organisation set up in 1952. The Marlborough Parent Centre has now been running for over 30 years.

It is our role to ensure that your pregnancy is a positive experience. We don’t just provide child birth education classes (although this is how many Parents first hear about us) we also provide support and education for parents with children aged 0-5yrs with services such as:

Antenatal classes (Child Birth Education - CBE)

The free Baby and You course (your CBE facilitator will discuss these with you)

Parenting talks on a range of topics ranging from toddler tantrums and toilet training through to CPR

The annual Parent and Child Expo

We also conduct advocacy work locally to ensure that you are supported and valued in your role as parents.

We are a not-for-profit voluntary organisation run by a committed group of parents who believe strongly in providing child birth support and education services to parents within the Marlborough region. We have been in Marlborough for over 30 years.

It is our focus to provide positive birth experiences and informed parenting in a community where parents are supported and highly valued in their role.

We provide a wide range of education and support services to ensure that child birth and the journey of raising your child is a positive experience.

You will also see us out fundraising throughout the year to help deliver the many services that we offer parents. Please support us when you can. We are always on the look out for committee volunteers so if you think you have something you could offer from baking nous through to a specific skill set please let us know. We’ve love to hear from you.

What is Parents Centre?

Parents Centre is a community based non profit organisation set up for parents by parents in 1952. Like the other 50 centres in New Zealand, Marlborough Parents Centre is run entirely by volunteers.

We are an organisation whose aim is to provide prospective parents, parents and families with quality parenting and childbirth education and information, enabling them to make informed decisions.

We are recognised by the Education Department in the field of continuing education.
